Excellence or popularity, it’s your choice

It really doesn’t matter what field of work or sport we’re involved in. We will very often have to make a choice between doing what we feel is best, or doing that which will gain most popularity. It seems that teenagers are the age group where this dilema is faced most often.

I’ve heard about this phenomenon for 25yrs. When I first came back from Hawaii in 86, one of my brother’s mates asked him, how I was going with “post Ironman depression”. When my brother told me, I thought “what in the hell is that?” Since then the subject has come up over the years.
