Where we live in Brisbane, we’re close to the “River Loop”. A popular ride of about  thirty-five km around some of Brisbane’s nicest suburbs. Whenever we’re out running, cycling or walking the dogs we see a father and daughter training together.

My Hawaii race was not a true reflection of my fitness level. I believe I suffered from low sodium levels through the second half of my bike and through much of my run. The large amount of fluid I consumed on the bike (13-14 bottles) because on the hot day caused me to lose more salt than I would normally expected to.

If you come here expecting it to be hot and windy, that’s what you’ll get.
As I rode up to Hawi the winds were mild by Hawaii standards, still windy but not as bad as I have seen.
I saw Pete Jacobs coming back in about 20th place and his body language was not good at that time. He must have been going through a tough patch, he was unable to get his special needs, they were just not organised in time for the lead group. I was pleasantly surprised later in the …

B-B-B-Bring it on, we’re ready!
I’ve had the most frustration week of trying to make contact with the rest of the world. I’ve spent too much time at the internet cafe. First it wouldn’t recognise my USB with all my addresses on it. Then Sandy forgot her password, we both have e-mail addresses on the same account. She kept trying every different possible password (her computer at home remembers it for her).
