I have just spent a week at the Super Sports Centre at Runaway Bay on the Gold Coast, doing the opening leg of the level three triathlon coaches course.
To be honest, I only applied for selection, (only ten coaches of elite athletes from around Australia were selected) to spend time with the best coaches and share ideas. To me being “level three” is a bit hollow. My goal is to be the best triathlon coach I can possible be. When I have one of my athletes standing on the podium, …

As soon as we bring up the subject of nutrition, many of us instantly think about supplements. Nutrition is food first and supplements second. The purpose of supplements is to work with the best diet you can manage to help make that diet the best it can be.
The mentality of eating whatever you can get your hands on, then fixing it up by taking a handful of pills every morning and night is flawed.

Very often then, when they would benefit most from coaching they take over the role themselves.

I meet lots of people who have goals.
When someone tells me their goals, whether it’s race goals or general life goals, I can tell if they’re just talk, or if they’re going to “make them happen”
It seems that when you speak about your goals, if you believe what you’re saying can actually happen. It changes your body language.

Starting first week in the new year, we will have access to the pool on Monday and Wednesday night.
I have negotiated a deal with pool management to expand the number of squad sessions held at Yeronga pool.
